We’re so excited to announce we’ll be releasing the upcoming new album from Joe Cardamone: the soundtrack to his ongoing film series QUARENTINA. Dropping on June 1st across all digital and streaming platforms as well as on limited edition 180 gram oxblood marble vinyl, QUARENTINA finds the former Icarus Line frontman at his most vulnerable and intimate.
The project was born out of a necessity for distraction and expression. A global pandemic. A city in lockdown. The end of a relationship. A life chopped up into parts. Out of this chaos emerged these uncut gems: nineteen songs about love and pain. Recorded in a flurry of home studio sessions with tracks dubbed in one or two takes just to grab the moment, not think, and keep flying, QUARENTINA, was completed in a matter of a weeks. An exercise in immediacy and minimalism, the album is sparing with its instrumentation but not its intimacy.
The first two singles “Lisbon” and “Yeshua” are streaming everywhere rad music streams now and we’ll be announcing the vinyl pre-order soon (watch this space for it)… New episodes of the film series starring Joe and Queen Kwong premiere every Sunday on Youtube and Buddyhead.com… Catch up on chapters 1 – 11 now !
Welcome to the new and improved Sonic Ritual! We’re excited to announce that we pulled a Voltron and teamed up with music supervisor and trailer music producer legend Maura Duval Griffin and epic orchestral music producer and entrepreneur Nitish Raina to form ETERNAL MUSIC GROUP. Partnering with Maura’s upstart custom music house Engine, Nitish’s Eternal Eclipse imprint, and our new joint production catalog Arkival furthers our abilities and deepens our commitment to creating a rad artist friendly ecosystem for all of our artists, composers and writers.
We have big plans for 2021 and 2022 including the soundtrack to former Icarus Line frontman Joe Cardamone’s new film series “QUARENTINA”, the debut album of up and coming film composer Tyler Durham’s post rock alter ego Limina, the debut full length of my favorite LA band Gypsum, an unearthed 1980 Los Angeles power pop time capsule that’s never been released and so much more… and don’t even forget about our first two releases: Ultimate Fakebook’s first album in sixteen years “The Preserving Machine” and former Civil Twilight frontman Steven Dayvid McKellar’s beautifully fragile and damaged “ETHIO”.
Get ready, we are not fucking around!
See you in the new releases bin!
Captain, Sonic Ritual
